5. Secure installation in your software The most important aspect of software protection is the integration of the software protection hardware in your software. Very often this interface is the first point of attack for potential crackers. The integration of CodeMeter and WIBU-KEY in your software can be executed by the following two possiblities: AxProtector Your software will be completely encrypted and supplied with the security engine of the AxProtector. The security engine checks and manages your software's licensing and provides an effective tool against debugging and analysis by a hacker. The AxProtector allows you to create a version of your software that runs with WIBU-KEY as well as with CodeMeter. This means that your Windows XP customers can use the complete functional range of CodeMeter and your Windows NT customers can use the same software with a WIBU-BOX for LPT. IxProtector With the CM/WK-API you can customize your use of the CodeMeter/WIBU-KEY hardware and use the hardware-based security chip for the decryption of pre-encrypted application data or for random encryption processes. The CM/WK-API is common across all supported platforms (Windows, Mac OS and Linux). You can even combine both AxProtector and IxProtector in order to increase the level of security and scope of activities, too. |
